Meet Our Staff
Cathy Sulentic-Morcom, PT, DPT/OwnerCathy has worked in the Northern Black Hills since 1986 and has called the Black Hills her home for most of her life. In 1995, Cathy established Black Hills Physical Therapy, Inc, an independently owned private physical therapy outpatient clinic committed to providing the highest quality, evidence- based Physical Therapy services to the Northern Black Hills. She has been a committed member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1981 and actively involved in the South Dakota Physical Therapy Association, holding several offices and committee positions.

Cathy feels blessed to be working in a profession she loves and believes in. Outside of work she enjoys biking, skiing, golfing and generally being in the great outdoors.
Cathy Hackney, Billing Specialist/Administrative Support Manager
Cathy has been with Black Hills Physical Therapy since 2001. She has extensive knowledge in insurance billing, medical coding, HIPAA training, and Medicare rules and regulations. She uses her wealth of knowledge and skill with helping all customers with their scheduling and billing needs, as well as keeping Black Hills Physical Therapy staff and office current and well-informed on the many changes in health care.
Emily Hoffmann, Office Manager
Emily joined our staff in 2016. She is the friendly voice on the other end of the line. She is happy to assist patient's with scheduling and all other needs. She is responsible for overseeing the office support staff and ensuring the flow of the front office.
Rachel Corean, Front Office Support/Insurance Specialist
Rachel is the pleasant voice on the other end of the line when someone calls Black Hills Physical Therapy. She has been a part of our team since 2014, and has been working in healthcare for over eight years. She will kindly assist you in scheduling, verify insurance information and benefits, and help you navigate through any questions you may have about physical therapy and services provided at Black Hills Physical Therapy.
Rachel loves living in the beautiful Black Hills with her family and enjoys exploring all of the activities the Northern Hills has to offer.
Jens Matson, PT, DPT, OCS, CMPT
Jens graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in May, 2014 and completed a postdoctoral residency in orthopedics in 2017 while living in Portland, Oregon. He is a board certified clinical specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS). In addition to his orthopedic background, he has pursued further clinical education in orthopedic manual therapy and is a Certified Manual Therapist (CMPT) through the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy.Jens' passion for physical therapy resides in being able to establish a personal connection with each patient he treats. He utilizes a patient-centered approach and strives to establish individualized treatment plans for each patient, with consideration and focus for the unique needs and personal goals of each individual. He specializes in manual therapy, sports and orthopaedic rehabilitation, and has special interest in the care of patients affected by post-concussion syndrome. Jens received his Bachelor of Arts degree as a double major in Exercise Physiology and Studio Art from Saint Olaf College in 2010 where he was also a member of the Nordic Ski team.
Jens enjoys spending his free time outdoors throughout the Black Hills - especially going golfing, camping, fishing, skiing, and hiking with his wife, Maria.
Maria Matson, PT, DPT
Maria graduated from Santa Clara University in 2008 with a B.S. in Combined Sciences and then went on to purse her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Creighton University. After she graduated in 2013, she worked at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital in Portland, OR treating patients in the acute care setting and then transitioned to outpatient orthopedics with Therapeutic Associates. There she also led an aquatic therapy program, where she worked with patients 1:1 in the water to help them regain their mobility and function.
Maria is also a certified yoga instructor and has focused her training on alignment based yoga and has received extensive continuing education through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. She is passionate about combining manual therapy techniques with exercise and functional movement to help patients reach their goals and live their best lives. She enjoys treating patients of all ages with orthopedic injuries, neuromuscular conditions, post surgery, and chronic pain.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys hiking, stand up paddle boarding, yoga, and exploring the Black Hills. She also loves a glass of red wine and hanging out with family and friends.
